The second part of the training course on investigative journalism took place in Kharkiv
The news has been published: 12.09.2018
Up till now, we managed to develop 10 materials in the field of journalistic investigations. Some of them were made as practice tools, but most of the materials will be finalized and published in the media. The topics differ from local problems and fraudulent schemes to state-level facilities and even people's deputies.
The materials turned out to be quite different in style, level of performance and subject matter. At the same time, we continue to collect new materials and encourage participants to make further investigations.
Hopefully, such studies will give impetus to the development of domestic journalism at the regional and national levels, influencing not only the emergence of new investigative journalists, but also fact-checking, general awareness of journalists and increasing transparency in the society.
In total, three similar groups of participants will be trained within the "Investigative Journalism – the Arrowhead of Transparency" project, implemented by the Regional Union of Youth. The next trainings will take place in Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia.
In December, we will select the best three articles and award their authors with valuable prizes. All participants can send us their materials and groundwork until November. Our trainers Maria Zemlianska, Yevhenia Motorevska and Maksym Opanasenko are ready to act as curators of these investigations and provide comprehensive support in carrying them out.
The training is organized within the "Investigative Journalism – the Arrowhead of Transparency" project in cooperation with a German organization "Europäische Medien Initiative e.V." using the German Federal Foreign Office resources.
