Female leaders and equality of rights: classes of the School for Young PolitiSHEans were implemented in Dnipro

On November 20-22, the first module of a six-day training course on political leadership within the School for Female Politicians took place in Dnipro. To took part in the event, women-participants had gathered from different Ukrainian regions.
This part was devoted to the analysis of organisation of authorities in Ukraine, development of local government, study of political ideologies, basics of fundraising, and cooperation with NGOs.
Our trainers:
- Aliona Hurkivska – expert on public policy and parliamentarism analysis, expert on coordination of international technical assistance projects for the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine (2019), and director of the Independent Centre for Policy Analysis (2018-2019).
- Dmytro Drobot – analyst, a member of Kharkiv Anti-Corruption Centre Board, a fundraising expert, co-founder of "Maidan healthcare professional" initiative; successfully worked with candidates during the political campaigns in the 2004, 2014-16, 2019-20 elections.
- Yevhen Lebedev – the head of an NGO, civic activist, expert in working with local authorities and organizing direct actions, and working with electorate.
During the event, the issues concerning the peculiarities of women's work in the Ukrainian political sector were discussed: challenges and risks, rights and practical opportunities for their implementation; successful election campaigns, programs; there was also energetic practical work with cases.
At the end of the event, the trainers noted that the feedback from the participants speaks for the effectiveness and social benefits of the project.
The training course is implemented in coperation with German organization "Media in Cooperation and Transition" (MiCT) using the German Federal Foreign Office resources.
