Practical aspects of creation and activity of bodies of self-organization of population: training for activists took place in Odesa

During October 2-3, the training on practical aspects of creation and activity of bodies of self-organization of population had been implemented in Odesa. The event was attended by participants from different regions of Ukraine.

Trainers:
- Yevhen Lebedev – the head of an NGO, expert of the Centre for Urban Development on working with local authorities and creation of BSOPs.
- Lubov Lebedeva – stock market specialist, financial expert of the Centre for Urban Development.

During the event, the trainers passed on to the group the knowledge and practical skills in the following areas:
- History of BSOPs. Green fence. The main issues that factivists may face. Forms of civil society associations and their functions.
- Legislation of Ukraine in the field of BSOPs. Laws and bylaws. BSOPs creation algorithms. Their operation.
- PSOB or HCs? Legislation, functioning. Comparative analysis of HCs and PSOB.
- BSOPs bookkeeping. Accounting for non-profit organizations. Tax reporting.
- Legal aspects of BSOPs operation.

It is worth giving prominence to a working session on "Communication. Representative systems. Examples of successful and unsuccessful communications", during which  Luibov Lebedeva emphasized the importance of paying attention to the quality of communication with the audience.

"If you decide to create a PSOB or HC, it is important to realize that you will have to work with quite different people, which requires at least basic knowledge of the major representative systems", the trainer emphasized.

The training was implemented in coperation with German organization "Media in Cooperation and Transition" (MiCT) using the German Federal Foreign Office resources.
