Press conference in Dnipro: peacebuilding in Ukraine and Germany's support – how to overcome the consequences of armed conflicts

On November 24, a press conference "Conflicts and dialogue: the role of civil society and media in the unification process" was held in Dnipro.

The event took place during the training "Conflict-sensitive journalism and dialogue: methods and means of uniting society" within the "Crisis prevention and Peace building in Ukraine – Time to Act!" project, which has been implemented by RUNY and supported with German Federal Foreign Office’s funds by IFA (Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen), Funding programme zivik.

The project aims to promote the resolving of current and preventing of possible future conflicts in Ukrainian society and establishing peace in Ukraine through the implementation of sustainable programs to modify the behaviour of target groups affected by the conflict in eastern Ukraine, their social inclusion, peaceful community adjustment and integration into local communities.

During press conference they talked about Germany's contribution to peacebuilding in Ukraine, the activities of NGOs during military conflicts, including the experience of RUNY, nuances of human rights activities both in the period of conflicts and in the post-conflict period, as well as the importance of journalistic activity in the context of building public dialogue in Ukraine.
