Ukrainian journalists adopted their German colleagues’ experience in covering military conflicts and working in flashpoints

The training for media representatives that work in the Conflict area in eastern Ukraine and pay close attention to the coverage of the conflict was implemented on November 15-17 in Dnipro.

During three days, participants gained knowledge and skills of creating high-quality media materials covering the events of the conflict, working with different groups of its direct participants and victims, learned to report objectively, independently, avoiding hate speech and stigmatization.

The following German experts shared their experience with Ukrainian journalists: Werner Sonne - Editor-in-Chief of ARD-TV Berlin Bureau, expert in geopolitics and international security, author of many books and publications (including on the military conflict in Ukraine) and Robin Lautenbach - German ARD-TV presenter and correspondent, expert on geopolitics and international security, author of series of documentaries on Germany unification process, German and Polish domestic and foreign policy.

The training was implemented within the “Crisis prevention and Peace building in Ukraine – Time to Act!” project, supported with German Federal Foreign Office’s funds by IFA (Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen), Funding programme zivik.
