The second module of training course on conflict management and inclusion was implemented in Odesa

The training for trainers was the final part of the training course and included both the systematization of knowledge gained in the sessions already implemented and the acquisition of a set of techniques and tools for understanding the principle of education of adults. The module helped participants to solidify knowledge about such processes as peacebuilding, as well as to acquire the ability to conduct the training in a group, ask the right questions, structure information, control the dynamics of the group.

Topics covered in this trainings part were as follows: "Trainer’s competencies and functions", "Principles of education of adults and the learning cycle", "Planning and preparation of own trainings", "Working with group dynamics". Participants solidified the material passed, analysed the previous sessions and their own work, developed the concept of their own workshops. The final stage of the training was the "Fundraising" topic, which provided participants with an insight into where and how to find resources for educational activities in peacebuilding after the centralized project support period ends.

The training course was based on using a wide range of methods and techniques. This helped to make the practical part of the course active. Participants' learning and developing new skills was based on their existing experience: for example, the participants-psychologists helped to highlight the topic of the peer-to-peer methodology.

"A very positive moment, repeatedly pointed out by the participants, was manifested in a well-chosen place for the training. Odesa, the sea and the sessions held in the park contributed to the emotional comfort. Analysis of the responses in the feedback questionnaire showed a high level of participants' satisfaction with all aspects of the training. In particular, the overwhelming majority rated the training event at 5 points (out of 5 maximum possible), and in the commentaries, participants noted the usefulness and importance of providing a wide range of basic methods and tools for interactive learning for the effectiveness of their future work as a trainer", the trainers emphasized.

In general, participants noted that the project developed them professionally, gave a new impetus to work, expanded the network of both their personal and professional contacts.

"Amongst other things, it is important to emphasize participants' readiness to implement their own training events (either seminars or workshops and lectures) for different target audiences. Some of the participants pointed out that community members are already waiting for them at home with the workshop they have developed during the studies", the trainers concluded.

The training-course was implemented within the "Crisis prevention and Peace building in Ukraine – Time to Act!" project, supported with German Federal Foreign Office’s funds by IFA (Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen), Funding programme zivik.
