To meet demands of the present time: power authorities of Khmelnytskyi region learned to work with BSOPs

On October 6, a training for representatives of local self-government institutions on decentralization and practical aspects of the activity of bodies of self-organization of population was held in Netishyn, Khmelnytsky region.
Trainers:
- Yevhen Lebedev – expert of the Centre for Urban Development on working with local authorities and the creation of BSOPs.
- Luibov Lebedeva – stock market specialist, financial expert of the Centre for Urban Development.
The trainers stressed that the relevance of decentralization reform and the effectiveness of instruments for implementation of local governance need to be communicated to the widest possible audience, as it is about the levers of citizens' influence on the processes that directly affect their lives and shape its quality.
The following issues were addressed during the training:
- History of BSOPs. Green fence
- Legislation of Ukraine in the field of BSOPs. Laws and bylaws
- Establishing cooperation between local self-government bodies and civil society
- Advantages of bodies of self-organization of pupulation in the accountable areas
- Development and adoption of transparent rules concerning BSOPs
- Optimization of the BSOPs registration process
- Working with documents
- Why do local authorities need BSOPs? Establishment of a coordination centre.
After the training was closed, the participants noted that the event was useful for them, and also voiced the need for the local self-government representatives to attend such trainings.
The training was implemented in coperation with German organization "Media in Cooperation and Transition" (MiCT) using the German Federal Foreign Office resources.
