For four days in Chernihiv, psychologists from all over Ukraine have been mastering new tools for working with victims of a gender-based violence.
During August 26-29, participants of the training on trauma therapy and healing of people suffered from the gender-based violence considered the regulatory framework on this issue and specific algorithms for how to work in such situations. It is important to note that the potential of the group was quite high and this contributed to the deep going into the topic of a gender-based violence.
Each of the training days had its own informational and practical features thanks to the trainers Valentyna Bukovska and Maryna Breslavets, who were able to actualize the topic of a gender-based violence in Ukrainian realities for participants of the training.
It is clear that all elements of the training were part of a holistic process of cognition. Although it’s really important to broaden out the techniques of finding a resource in yourself after a traumatic experience, because this stage in the work of psychologists is integral.
The event is part of the project "Peace Building and Conflict Resolution in Ukraine – Step Forward", implemented with the support of the German Federal Foreign Office’s funds by IFA (Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen), Funding programme zivik.
