How to create a body of self-organization of population in a community: a training for activists took place in Chuhuiv

On December 12-13 in Chuguiv, Kharkiv region, the training "Practical aspects of creation and activity of bodies of self-organization of population" was held.

The event was organized for activists, representatives of public organizations, heads of housing cooperatives, candidates for deputies in local elections, as well as for all concerned citizens who are ready to start work on the establishment of BSOPs in their community, who seek opportunities to control the power authorities in their towns, to influence the decisions, to implement new projects in their communities.

We worked on mastering the following tools:
- legal framework;
- financial statements;
- the mechanism of creation and principles of work;
- conditions of taxation;
- risks in work (including raiding and political influence).

Our trainers:
- Yevhen Lebedev – expert of the Centre for Urban Development on working with local authorities and the creation of BSOPs.
- Luibov Lebedeva – stock market specialist, financial expert of the Centre for Urban Development.

The training was implemented in coperation with German organization "Media in Cooperation and Transition" (MiCT) using the German Federal Foreign Office resources.
