Women in politics: training for future female politicians was implemented in Odesa

On December 4-6, the second module of the training course for young women in politics took place in Odesa. Participants from different regions of Ukraine gathered to acquire the knowledge they will need to increase the fruitfulness, productivity and effectiveness of their future activities in the political sector.

Our trainers:
- Anna Hutsol – the founder of the international women's movement FEMEN network, communication specialist in the socio-political sphere, project manager. Manager of successful communication campaigns of parliamentary candidates, head of the press service of the regional headquarters in the elections for local and regional council seats, communication manager with the experience of an assistant to the People's Deputy of Ukraine.
- Nataliia Sablina – PhD, deputy of the city council, founder of the "Centre for Civic Initiatives" NGO
- Yevhen Lebedev – the head of a civic organization, activist, expert in working with local authorities and organizing direct actions, expert in working with electorate .

During the training, the following topics were discussed:
- planning and implementation of the election campaign at the local level: organization of work of the election headquarters, agitation during the election campaign
- public speaking, effective participation in negotiations and public debate technologies
- communicative competence and emotional intelligence in the management of activities, methods of improving emotional intelligence
- emotional burnout and ways to overcome it
- improving the level of communication during meetings with voters
- female strength: women's problems in politics – how to articulate them
- work with the media and social networks, Facebook and Instagram algorithms, work with paid content, product placement and native advertising, media literacy
- teamwork, search for like-minded people, stories of success, party building, direct actions and peaceful assemblies
- communication campaign budget and strategy
- direct actions, organization of events, internal and external communications.

According to the trainers' feedback, the event was attended by a highly motivated group, and consisted of energetic practical work with specific cases and certain situations simulation. The participants noted that knowledge and skills they gained will be useful in their future work.

The training course was implemented in coperation with German organization "Media in Cooperation and Transition" (MiCT) using the German Federal Foreign Office resources.
