FIGHTING CORRUPTION AS A CORNERSTONE OF DEMOCRATIC CHANGES

The project was designed to encourage anti-corruption civically responsible behavior of youth from Eastern part of Ukraine through the awareness building activities as well as to promote tools for strengthening transparency at local powers. The total audience reached during the project were 60 000 people.

The aim was reached with the following measures:

✔ conduction of research in selected regions on the topic of corruption in local powers and citizens’ involvement in such practices
✔ monitoring of current local legislation and development of recommendations for officials on the situation improvement
✔ implementation of series of educational activities for local communities and media representatives on the subject of combating corruption
✔ implementation of a series of initiatives aimed at identifying, preventing and disclosing corruption factors
✔ organizing of a press conference jointly with the Consul General of the Republic of Germany, Mr. Wolfgang Moessinger on the topic of corruption preventing in Ukraine and Germany's contribution to this process.

This project had significant impact on all target groups involved. We expect that all the hard work done directly improves the situation with corruption in Eastern Ukraine.

The project is implemented using the German Federal Foreign Office resources.
