MEDIA LITERACY FOR HUMAN RIGHTS PROTECTION  AND HOMELAND DEFENSE

The Goal of the project was to combat the violation of human rights in Eastern Ukraine by reducing the influence of media propaganda and manipulations trough educational human rights and media literacy campaign for local young people, to build their capacity to perceive, evaluate, understand, analyze and create their own media content with the ability to serve as providers of these knowledge to their peers.

In the frames of the project:

✔ participants received knowledge on media literacy and human rights, mastered tools on access to information and basic coaching skills on a peer-to-peer methodology
✔ teams of multipliers held 10 mini-seminars on the topic of the project in local communities, which allowed to significantly increase the number of directly involved participants
✔ Own methodological manual for teaching media literacy was developed and published

The project significantly reduced the impact of aggressive propaganda and manipulation in media on the target audience, created a basis for protecting the information sovereignty of Ukraine and increased media literacy of local population of Eastern regions.

The project was implemented with the support of the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Donetsk with a location in Dnipro.
