For four days, practicing psychologists and specialists that work with victims of the war from all over the country mastered the basic principles of providing psychosocial support in emergency situations and crises.

During July 7-10, participants had the opportunity to expand the range of tools for their work, systematize previously acquired knowledge, and adapt it to today's requirements. Due to a systematic approach and a successful combination of theoretical blocks with practical cases, trainers Olena Sudakova and Olesia Druzhyna helped participants to fully immerse themselves in the topic of psychological support of people suffered from the war.

In the work process, it was established that the support should be provided from human well-being point of view, and the key to success is an effective communication between all links involved in providing psychosocial support to victims. Everyone should provide assistance from their position, it is demonstrated by the pyramid of interventions once again with which participants worked on one of the training days.

In turn, mental health and psychosocial support measures should be comprehensive, with all the participants included and working as a whole.

The second part of the training course for practicing psychologists and specialists that work with victims of the war is ahead.

The event was held in the frames of the "Peace Building and Conflict Resolution in Ukraine – Step Forward" project, implemented with the support of the German Federal Foreign Office’s funds by IFA (Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen), Funding programme zivik.
