The training course on conflict management and inclusion in local communities was implemented in Dnipro

The second module of the second training course on reconciliation, conflict management and inclusion in local communities was implemented in Dnipro between July 29 and August 1. The event took place within the "Crisis prevention and Peace building in Ukraine – Time to Act!" project, supported with German Federal Foreign Office’s funds by IFA (Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen), Funding programme zivik for the third year.

After the event, participants have the opportunity to disseminate the knowledge they acquired in their home-town communities. The trainers were Inna Boiko and Olena Nabokova. The event was attended by 30 people from different regions of Ukraine.

The trainers noted: "The program of the second module was largely devoted to interaction with the audience on the topic of conflicts, features of training activities and the development of the participants' trainers competencies. Every session had its own learning objective and was aimed at achieving the main goal of the course - to develop the participants’ potential to hold their own workshops on respective topics. We observed that the participants were involved in the work, improved their teamwork skills, trusted and respected the needs and opinions of other group members. The feedback received by the trainers at the end of the work speaks for the fact that any single participant noted a highly professional level of training. The participants expressly indicated that the tools presented by the trainers during the entire course could be used in their future activities. The training was distinguished by an interesting way of presenting information, which ensured the maximum transfer of experience from trainers to participants."

According to the trainers, participants mastered the basic principles and forms of peer-to-peer technique, worked out the basic concepts, demonstrated a practical example of peer-to-peer training with the target group on the example of mini-sessions.

It is also worth mentioning that participants acquired knowledge that would further help them to develop their communication skills in both professional and everyday life.

"The final part of the training course provided for both the systematization of knowledge gained at previous sessions and the acquisition of a set of techniques and tools for understanding the principle of teaching adults. The training helped to acquire the ability to conduct the educational process in a group, to ask the right questions, to organise information, and manage the dynamics of the group. Participants reinforced the material learnt, made an analysis of previous sessions and their own work, developing the concept of their own workshops. Towards the end of the training, participants with the help of the trainers came to understand how to build teams for events based on the principle of effective interaction. A preliminary schedule of future workshops has been drawn up. Teams have been created for their implementation, taking into account the level of competence, proficiency in peer-to-peer technique, and the geographical principle", the trainers summed up.
